And so it begins... Emily got her braces put on today. She is thinking about getting contacts now because she said, “you can only be so nerdy and glasses and braces might put me over.”

Emily went in for her 13 year well check. She is doing great. She is 60 inches tall (24th percentile), 83 lbs (14th percentile), with a BMI of 16.2 (13th percentile). She has grown 2.25 inches this year.

Emily and David had a great time at King’s Island on Saturday with her school (7th grade choir, band, and orchestra).

It was great to hear Emily play her last orchestra concert this year. She played for both orchestra and chamber orchestra this year. It was difficult to explain to Elias that you can’t cheer Emily along during orchestra the same way you can for running. He kept yelling “Go Emily Go” every time he saw her playing. Pretty sure the people who sat in front of us hated us by the end.

4 years ago Emily started running. She was slow and didn’t want to get dirty. Today she runs both cross country and track and when not doing those is a junior coach for the place where her love of running started (Brownsburg Blaze). I am so proud of the young lady that she is becoming.

Emily had her spring concert this evening she has come so far in 18 months. It has been amazing to see the young lady she is growing into.

Emily had an amazing opportunity to play with the Hendricks County Symphony this afternoon. She had so much fun and did a wonderful job.

Emily competed at her first competition with her school Chamber Orchestra and she got gold! So excited!!

We have completed another season of sports in the Baker house. Emily finished cross country at East Middle School and helping coach Blaze (junior running club). We are ready for a nice slow fall break.
