Other:	I'm pretty tall for my age and have been in the 90+ percentile since a baby. My due date was December 10, but I decided to come early. I was born 2 weeks before my due date weighing 6 lbs 11 oz at 20.5 inches long. As an infant, I liked to sleep with my head pressed into the corner of my co-sleeper.

First game of the Upward basketball season. David is coaching and both boys are on the team. We didn’t win, but they got a lot of energy out.

Brownsburg East Middle School recognized the Boys Cross Country Hendricks County, Northwest Suburban Conference, and Middle School State champions tonight. So cool Emerson had this experience!

Emerson participated in a very cold run in Wisconsin. He enjoyed a great time with his teammates. He felt very grateful for the sunshine.

Emerson celebrated his 12th birthday today. He had a sleepover with friends last night, followed by a leisurely morning run. To cap off the day, the family enjoyed a delicious Mexican dinner. We are eager to see what the upcoming year holds for him.

Emerson ran today at the Nike Cross Country Regionals. He was battling an illness and still managed to get a PR. His team did great and came in first. I'm proud of his growth this season!

Emerson ran his first meet with Brownsburg Distance Running Club. He is really enjoying this group.

Emerson had his first orchestra performance. It was set up as a learning performance for them to show us what they have learned so far this year and to try to teach the parents how to hold the bow. DeAnne was not very good.

Emerson’s 6th grade school cross country season has come to an end. He received the most improved runner award for his growth this season. He can’t wait to start the winter distance running group now!

The boys had an amazing week at Camp Allendale! We learned how Jesus is a great reason to party and how we can be party starters.

Last day of school for 5th grade. Emerson celebrated with a tie-dye time and a party. The boys earned honor roll all year and PE awards. Emerson had a fun mock medical board exams with ID and photos. Looking forward to summer!

We concluded the day with our Blaze awards night, where we celebrated Emerson's outstanding achievement of 107.1 miles, for Psalms 107:1 - Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Busy May-cember!! The boys ran in their school run club combined meet and Emerson placed second. The final awards for the school run club were handed out and Emerson won for the highest miles in the school. The boys ran a meet with Blaze (rec run club) this week also and Emerson placed 3rd. To finish out the week the boys had track and field day at their school.

Final basketball game of the season. Emerson enjoyed playing and making new friends. David got to play in the coaches vs ref game for halftime. They concluded the season with a pizza party.

Emerson had his first Upward basketball game of the season. Emerson made 14 of the 18 points our team scored.

Emerson and David went to the Pacers game last night for his birthday. We had a great time. He was pumped we got the last t-shirt Boomer shot from the cannon!

We finished another season of Blaze this week. Emerson set a 5k record for Blaze with a time of 21:08 and ran 101 miles.

Had a great week at Camp Allendale! David was a group leader for Elias and four other boys. Emerson was with older kids, but we got to see each other at times. May God continue to work in the hearts of these kids.

The boys had a great week at Police and Fire camp in the morning and cross country camp in the evening. They learned so much and I can’t recommend police and fire camp enough. They learned many things including how to fight off kidnappers, CPR, gun safety and how to fire one, bike safety and laws around bikes, they even got to go through simulations for both police and firefighters and much more.

Emerson’s team won their first game out of a crazy season. The week before he played a good game and made both free throws. For the month of January Emerson was student of the month for showing integrity!!

Emerson played his first basketball game of the season with the Brownsburg rec league. He had a good time. It ended in a tie.

Last night was the awards night for Blaze running. Emerson ran 101.11 miles this season, got the high mile award, came in 1st overall this season for the 3k, and officially came in 2nd in the Blaze record books for his 5k time.

The boys had a great run last night. Emerson (ran the 3k) and shaved about 30 seconds off his time from about 3 weeks ago. So proud of him.

Emerson ran his best race to date yesterday. Emerson ran the 3k and came in 1st. He took over a minute off his time from just a few weeks ago. The best part is he said he had fun!!

The boys had a fun time at the track meet that the high school team put on for the little kids. Emerson was tripped at the start of the 1600 and got pretty skinned up but got right up and finished second place for his age group. He was mad because he thinks he could have finished faster had it not been for the fall. He did go on to place first in the 400.

Cold morning for the Running of the Bulldogs 5K. Emily ran with Emerson to encourage him, and they finished with a time of 26:56 (48th and 49th out of 264).

The spring running season is in full swing again. Blaze also started on Tuesday with the first time trial of the season yesterday. The kids all did wonderful, and it is great to have the teens to come help run with the little kids. These kids are way too fast for us old people.
