This wild and crazy boy is doing so much better. Now we are trying to get him to hold still and rest. He wants to run, jump, and do flips. He is on no medicine at all and tonight he gets to take a bath for the first time post surgery. Nothing can hold back a 3-year-old!

Eli update - Recovery is getting better every day. He is moody and frustrated, but that is to be expected. We are off the narcotic/medicine every 3 hours round the clock so that will definitely help with the sleep. We took off his large belly bandage today. We hope that brings him more comfort. We won’t fully know if his eye surgery was successful for up to 6 months.

Elias had his eye and hydrocele surgery today. He was a trooper. He was pretty happy and dancing until the point they took him back. He did well through both surgeries and both were a success. He had a rough time coming out of anesthesia and was still in a lot of pain and had to get morphine. He was sent home on some pretty strong pain meds and is just ready to rest.

Today marks the 3-year anniversary of Elias going to the ophthalmologist. He was a much happier guy today. We are now trying to get a miracle done. We are trying to have his urologist perform the surgery he needs at the same time that he would be under for his eye surgery. If all the stars align, he will only need to be under anesthesia once and both eyes will be operated on and a fixed hernia. Now to see how well the scheduling offices can get along.

Helped out this morning at Elias' school. The kids got to do an obstacle course for their pup strut fundraiser. The kids were all so cute!!

Elias had his first day of the 3-year-old class at Discovery Days. He had a lot of fun and is excited to go back.

Elias had his back to school night tonight for the Brownsburg Early Childhood Education Center. He did great. We got to meet his teacher, tour a bus, and meet his bus drivers. He is very excited.

Elias went in for his 3 year well check. He is doing great. He is 37 inches tall (36th percentile), 29 lbs (22nd percentile), with a BMI of 15 (18th percentile). Perfectly perfect in every way!

Elias turned 3 today. He is an amazing spunky little man who loves singing and dancing. He closes his eyes and really becomes one with the music. We also started potty training about a month ago and today we went out in undies in public for the first time. He did amazing!

Eli had another check with the eye specialist today and he is doing great. His eyes still aren't properly aligned, but his vision is looking great. We would like to get 2 checks with the same measurements of alignment before proceeding with surgery. Another huge request we made of them today was to try and do his hernia surgery and eye surgery at the same time. In the fall we will meet with the most senior eye surgeon and try our hardest to get both scheduled at Riley. Today we also met with Brownsburg Early Childhood Education and made a transition plan for him to enter developmental preschool in the fall. He is academically advanced, but needs help with speech.
