Elise turned 14 today. She had a day full of shopping and then dinner at her favorite place Chick-fil-A. Can’t wait to see what this next year has in store for this shoe loving special girl.
February 11, 2022
Today marks 4 months since Elise’s back surgery. We went to the doctor this week and she is doing amazing. Everything is continuing to heal wonderfully.
January 21, 2022
Elise is off to camp in Michigan with Connection Pointe Church for the weekend. I am sure she will have an amazing time, but as the mom I worry. They have amazing activities planned, but she will have to sit out on some of them because of her back. Now prayers for everyone on the trip and for her middle school brain to understand that she can’t do everything.

We celebrated Elise’s 3-month spineversary tonight with dinner out at Chick-fil-A. She is doing great and getting more and more movement back every day. She isn’t a fan of the cold when her rods and hardware get cold. She said it becomes difficult to warm up.

Elise did a great job at her middle school orchestra performance this evening.

We went out to dinner to celebrate Elise’s 1-month spineaversary. She is doing great. She still has lifting restrictions and is getting used to her new stiff back. Slowly some of her flexibility is returning. She is one tough cookie.

Elise is going back to school for the first time post-surgery today. Prayers that she has a great first day back with minimal pain or discomfort. Kids are so strong and great at recovering.

A week after Elise broke out of the hospital, she made a big trip to the store to get a betta fish. His name is Mushu. She has been getting better slowly each day. The hardest thing has been figuring out what meds she can take. After trying a few things this week, she is just on Tylenol now.

Elise is moving this morning. She walked the floor and did stairs. She wants to go home.
