Emily spent 3 days and 2 nights with Mom and Dad at a cabin in Bloomington. We had fun walking through trails, going to Nashville, shopping, relaxing in the hot tub, and spending quality time with one another.

Emily and her friend Cullen went to the Let’s Meet PBS KIDS in the Park family festival in downtown Indianapolis. We got to see lots of characters, received tons of free information and goodies, eat good food, and get up close to a fire truck, ambulance, and school bus. It was a lot of fun.

Emily no longer needs her bath seat when taking a bath since she is able to climb out of it. We now have a bath mat and we just don’t fill the tub up very much.

Emily went to the zoo for the first time with our friends Kate, Mark, and Cullen. She got to see lots of different animals and even fed a giraffe.

Emily had her first birthday party today. Many of her family and friends were there to celebrate. Everyone had a great time.

Today is Emily's first birthday. She started out the day by opening up a couple presents. Then she went to Target for a photo shot at the studio. We had a special birthday lunch at El Rodeo (Emily's favorite Mexican restaurant). In the evening, we went to Ritter's and had sundaes. While at Ritter's Emily was serenaded a special birthday song by 3 ladies. Needless to say, Emily loved the song. It was a great first birthday!

DeAnne went back to work on a part-time basis today and Emily went to day care for the first time. Everything went very well.
