October 31, 2005
Happy Halloween! Emily dressed up as a little flower and went to a trunk-or-treat at a local church. She tasted a piece of candy for the first time and liked it. Also, Emily started eating carrots today.

October 29, 2005
Emily went to an Apple Orchard this morning and had a great time. She tasted apple butter and apple cider, helped Mom and Dad pick tons of delicious apples, and picked out 3 pumpkins. The big pumpkin is for Emily and the three tiny pumpkins are for Nummy, Ferguson, and Albert.

Emily had a doctor's appointment today and received one more shot... and it hurt. She is now 25 3/4 inches long and weighs 16 lbs 1 oz. She is almost off the chart!

Today Emily is 5 months old! She is right on track with all of her development. Mom and Dad are very proud of her.

Pears have been added to Emily's diet. These pears are so good that Dad tries to steal some from Emily.

Emily is now eating sweet potatoes. You would be amazed at how much baby food you can make with three sweet potatoes!

Emily tried some green beans today. At first she didn't seem to care too much for green beans, but now she likes them mixed with a little milk and rice.

Emily tried apples for the first time. She absolutely loves apples! DeAnne makes all of the baby food herself, so we know Emily is eating good food.

September 25, 2005
Today, Emily tried banannas for the first time and didn't like it. She continues to eat rice cereal and oatmeal cereal in the evening.

September 16, 2005
Emily is now sleeping in her crib in her own room. DeAnne was sad that her baby girl is growing up so fast.
